Interview with Kristen and Grant
JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Kristen: just the ones who didn't bathe.
Grant: Yes and no. Most inmates just want to serve
their time and avoid trouble, but there are
always a few who want to pick a fight or mess
with you
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Kristen: a woman kept looking at me and I think she
thought I was a lesbian
Grant: Mostly keep your mouth shut and your back to the
wall. I had to show I would stand up for myself
if I had to, but never be the one to start
anything. Being friendly with and obeying the
guards and staff helped a lot. If you don't cause
trouble the guards kinda look out for you more.
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Kristen: no. No one was there I knew
Grant: No.

i have a family member in th durham county jail,she has not been abel to call collect,what do i need to do or call to be abel to get her calls

the person he/she is trying to call has to get what is called paytel put on their phone. They have a website where they can put money on their account or they can go to wal-mart and buy a card to put money on the account.
